SPEED RECORD A COMFORTABLE ACHIEVEMENT
Britain has retained supremacy in high-speed sofas. Last week, driver Marek Turowski drove a motorized chesterfield down a runway, attaining a record speed of 147 km/h. Made by Edd China, maker of motorized furniture, the sofa is officially street legal for driving and will be used to raise money for charity. Said Turowski of his feat: “It was terrifying. You feel every bump.” The previous record of 139 km/h was also set by a British sofa.
