PARADE

A friend deep down

A four-year-old in London, Ont., squabbled all morning with his best friend and finally announced to his mother, “I’m never going to play with him again.” Vet a few moments later she saw the pair busily digging in the

garden. “I thought you weren’t going to play with him anymore,” said his mother. Her son nodded knowingly and replied, “We’re not playing—we’re digging his grave, but he doesn’t know it.”

Parade pays $5 to $10 for true anecdotes. Address Parade c/o Maclean’s.
