PARADE

When spring produced its annual crop of sunken, washed-out roads a disgruntled taxpayer in Caledon East, Ont., thought about writing a letter to the editor about the pond-sized puddle in front of his house on the main street. Instead, he erected a sign reading; “Absolutely no swimming, snorkling or water skiing allowed.”

Parade pays $5 to $10 for true anecdotes. Address Parade c/o Maclean's.
