How to really catch a bus

PARADE

A young mother in Windsor, Ont., babe in arms, ran as fast as she could for the corner to catch a bus that was just dawdling by. Though he couldn’t have missed seeing her, the driver kept right on going. Mother was breathless and furious, but no madder than a passing taxi driver. He swerved to the curb, called, “Get in— no charge!”, then shot ahead of the bus to cut it off at the next corner and wait there till he saw his passenger climb aboard.

Parade pays $5 to $10 for true anecdotes. Address Parade c/o Maclean’s.
