In the article on Vancouver, We Can Keep Vancouver Livable (January), I notice that credit for preventing the City Council from cutting down trees and widening the streets in the West End was given to SPEC (The Society for Pollution and Environmental Control). In fact the campaign was instigated and organized by the West End Community Council; SPEC was only one of a number of organizations that helped them with it. I am delighted to hear that Mayor Tom Campbell is worried about SPEC; that means we are doing our job.
